San Mateo, California — April 21, 2016 — Today Farsight Security, Inc. announced that it has appointed Andrew Lewman as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Harold Shelton as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In his new position, Mr. Lewman will oversee sales, marketing, business development, and customer service; Mr. Shelton will manage finance and administration for the company.
Farsight Security provides the world’s largest real-time actionable threat intelligence information on how the Internet is changing and how it’s being used, seeing more than 200,000 DNS-related observations per second. Security analysts around the globe use this information every day to provide critical context to existing threat data to increase detection and mitigation of today’s Internet security threats.
Due to significant demand for its solutions, Farsight Security has expanded its staff and, most recently, moved into larger headquarters to accommodate its growing team.
“Adding Harold and Andrew sharpens Farsight’s C-suite immensely,” said Dr. Paul Vixie, Farsight Security CEO. “I’ve admired Andrew’s work for years, ever since he took up the leadership at the Tor Project. Andrew is a well-respected member of the Internet technology and security communities, and we are lucky to have him. Harold, also, brings exactly the right skill set at exactly the right time. We were due for an experienced CFO, and Harold’s background and attitude are perfect for us. Along with CTO Merike Käo, the Farsight C-suite is my ideal leadership team for our next stage of growth.”
Previously, Mr. Lewman served as SVP of Engineering at Norse Corporation, where he managed all aspects of engineering. Prior to Norse, he was the Executive Director and CEO of the Tor Project, a non-profit technology organization that provides online anonymity software tools used by over 2 million Internet users daily in more than 200 countries. Lewman grew Tor from a three-person organization to a company with more than 50 employees and contractors and over 6,000 volunteers in over 89 countries worldwide. Before the Tor Project, he served as VP of Engineering on the original startup team for online IT media firm, TechTarget. He earned his B.S. from Framingham State University.
“I am excited to join Farsight and work with Dr. Paul Vixie and the excellent team he’s assembled. With unique data, proven products and top-shelf talent, Farsight helps hundreds of organizations measurably improve detection and response time to today’s Internet-delivered threats. In my new position, I will work closely with our customers and partners to provide the solutions, support and programs needed to mitigate risk and achieve their business goals,” said Mr. Lewman, CRO of Farsight Security.
Mr. Shelton has over 25 years of experience and a proven track record in all areas of finance. “I’m excited to be joining two Internet pioneers, Dr. Paul Vixie and Dr. Paul Mockapetris, along with the entire team of talented and experienced professionals. In my short tenure thus far, I have been impressed with its depth and breadth of talent in the organization and its dedication to helping its enterprise customers address complex cybersecurity problems. I look forward to laying the infrastructure framework for our next stages of growth,” said Harold Shelton, CFO of Farsight Security.
